Conversation Street Episode 691
Sunday Aug 03, 2025
Sunday Aug 03, 2025
We're back from our holidays in France, all caught up on Corrie, and it's finally time for Episode #691 of the podcast, where we chat about what went on between the 25th July and the 1st August (Episodes #11,627 - 11,634)
It's been a long time coming, but this week finally saw Abi and Carl giving into their desires and dropping their drawers for a seven-minute bunk up in the garage office. Whilst Abi rated the union 'cracking' and Carl certainly seemed pleased with himself, we can't say we're too pleased about the development ourselves - but is there really ANYONE in this storyline who's side we'd say we were on? Meanwhile, Theo's dark side emerges once more as he exerts his control over Todd. Get out while you can, man - Theo's REALLY not worth it! Also this week, Dee-Dee and James come to an agreement about Laila's parenting that's DEFINITELY not going to run into any issues, Sam gets all environment conscious and the mystery surrounding Becky Swain's death deepens... and we admit it - we're very much intrigued!
Up next on the podcast, it's time for a trip to The Kabin, where we take a look at some of the pictures of Jack P Shepherd's wedding as well as a new piece of Corrie merch that's been produced for the 65th anniversary. Then, after a bumper feedback section, we talk about some pretty big and definitely spoilery cast news that broke a few days ago - you just know this is one we can't stay quiet about!

Conversation Street Episode 690

Wednesday Jul 23, 2025
We're not going to be able to record at all this weekend, so Episode #690 of the podcast is coming out early, focusing on what went on in Weatherfield on the 21st and the 23rd July (Episodes #11,623 - 11,626).
It was a tough week for Theo this week when Noah reared his head again with a Bible in one hand and a leaflet to his latest conversion session in the other. Can Theo let go of his past and stay true to himself? Also this week, Ryan's left reeling when Debbie gives him an unexpected kiss - a friendly gesture from a grateful boss, a side effect of her dementia.. or something much murkier? Meanwhile, Aadi scrambles to keep Dev from uncovering the truth about the staged robbery, Lou braces herself for a likely prison sentence, and Sam mysteriously vanishes during Audrey’s birthday party. Could Lily’s antics last week be to blame?
Not much in the way of Corrie news this week so we give The Kabin a swerve, and finish off with a couple of pieces of listener feedback.

Saturday Jul 19, 2025
On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown between the 14th and the 18th July (Episodes #11,617 - 11,622)
Another big event episode this week – and yes, another prison break and another hostage situation. This time, it was Mick’s turn in the spotlight, but how did it measure up to recent rampages? And did Corrie really need to return to that same well so soon after Rob Donovan’s escape? Meanwhile, Lily’s got a new head and, with it, a brand new attitude – but was her callousness towards Sam during the school break-in in any way justified? Also this week, Aadi and Brody stage a robbery, there’s a gazump-off between Lisa and Carla, and while Gary’s head might be healing, his pride has taken a serious hit...
Up next, we take a quick trip to The Kabin, where we chat about the competition launches by This Morning to get a Corrie fan's pooch a walk-on part in the show, and we round off the week with more of your feedback.

Thursday Jul 17, 2025
On the Saturday of International Soap Week, the pair of us took on the challenge of walking between the location of Corrie's old set in Quay Street to its current home in Media City, and we weren't alone! Accompanied by a group of Conversation Street listeners, we set off through Manchester, stopping off at various Corrie filming locations with the aim of raising money for Dementia UK. This episode of the podcast chronicles our journey, as well as recounting various other Corrie related goings on during our trip up north, including visiting the places where some of this year's location shoots took place and chatting with Sally Ann Matthews outside the studio gates.

On our latest podcast, we discuss the episodes of Coronation Street shown on the 10th and the 11th July (Episodes #11,613 - 11,616).
This week's episodes finally saw the reveal of what happened to Gary the night of the party to put him into the coma - and to the surprise of no-one, it's Lou who's right at the heart of it. Will she be able to talk her way out of this one? Meanwhile, Lisa starts her therapy sessions and finds herself opening up a lot more than she was expecting about Becky. Also this week, Lauren and Aadi get closer, an insecure Kevin continues to lie about his health, and Dee-Dee gets Laila christened in secret.
Next up on the podcast, it's The Kabin, and we chat about the nominations for this year's Inside Soap Awards. We finish things off with more of your fantastic feedback.

To mark International Soap Week, we’ve got a special interview with someone who’s been involved in just about every major UK soap out there. Mickey Jones began his career as a storyliner on Coronation Street before stepping in front of the camera to play larger-than-life barman Lance Powell in Brookside. Since then, he’s returned behind the scenes to direct episodes of Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, and Corrie - a role he continues to this day. In this interview, Mickey reflects on his soap career, reveals some behind-the-scenes secrets, and shares his thoughts on the genre as a whole - including where he sees it heading in the future.

Saturday Jul 05, 2025
On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 30th June and the 2nd July (Episodes #11,609 - 11,612).
This week, Kevin starts to worry that Abi might be bracing herself to leave him, and though his suspicions are correct, is it really a wise move to lie about his news from the hospital in order to try and keep hold of her? Meanwhile Maria continues to be concerned about Gary's whereabouts, but it looks like Lou may know exactly where he is.. Was she the one responsible for putting him in hospital? Also this week, the truth comes out about Millie's fake pregnancy, Cassie's relationship with Steve continues to rile Tracy, and with James putting his foot down about any plans to get Laila christened, Dee-Dee decides to take matters into her own hands...
Up next on the podcast, it's the news, and we chat about ITV's decision to upload entire episodes to YouTube early, and we finish things off with more of your fabulous feedback.

2025: Reflections On The Year So Far
Wednesday Jul 02, 2025
Wednesday Jul 02, 2025
We’re now six months into 2025, which can only mean one thing – it’s time for our Coronation Street mid-year review! It’s been a dramatic start to the year, with a string of big exits – from Mason’s tragic death to Daisy’s glamorous escape to Bali – but is Corrie shedding too many characters at once? We dive into the growing trend of event episodes, including the Platt house fire, Mick and Kit’s powerful flashback, Aadi’s ill-fated party and more. Plus, we discuss the arrival of the Michaelis family, the surprise return of Rob Donovan, and what the increased reliance on those hospital and police sets might mean for the show’s future. No stone is left unturned in our deep dive into Corrie’s 2025 so far!

On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what that group of young reprobates got up to on the cobbles this week (Episodes #11,603 - 11,608).
Judging by people's reactions online, Monday's big event episode was a pretty polarising one among fans, and we actually surprised ourselves by loving it! Between the heavy featuring of some of our favourite young characters and the big twist at the end with Nina and Summer, we were glued to our screens - until we realised that the aftermath would necessitate a load more visits to the police station and hospital, that is... And as for Corrie spoiling its own big reveal on social media before Friday's episode had even aired? Well we've certainly got a lot to say about that! Also this week, Debbie gets back together with Ronnie, Millie continues to cause mischief for Theo and Todd, and Steve and Cassie go public with their romance - and Tracy isn't happy!
Another week with little to cover in the way of Corrie news, but there was plenty of feedback to get through at the end of the episode - thanks to everyone who's written in!
