Conversation Street Episode 702

In our latest podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 13th and the 17th October (Episodes #11,693 - 11,698).

In what turned out to be a rather mixed week on the cobbles, some storylines failed to hit the mark while others had us completely gripped – most notably the escalating game of cat and mouse between Theo and Todd. We were stunned when Theo brazenly admitted to Todd that he’d been unfaithful, blaming Todd’s supposed closeness with Billy, and we loved seeing Todd finally stand up for himself – especially with his not-so-subtle flaunting of his ex during the Rovers’ Mr and Mrs contest. However, as we all know, this abusive relationship is far from its conclusion... Elsewhere on the Street, we saw poor Tyrone struggling to adjust to life in a wheelchair amidst constant bickering from his family, while Asha’s return from hospital showed she is clearly still suffering too. Meanwhile, Becky wasted no time in making herself at home at Number 6 while Carla was away, Carl pushed Abi to take Kevin to the cleaners in their divorce, and Hope found herself the target of some malicious text messages – but who could be behind them?

Access All Areas! Behind The Scenes At The Corrie Press Day

Last week, we were lucky enough to be invited to the press day at Coronation Street, where we got a sneak preview of an upcoming episode, sat in on an interview with producer Kate Brooks and had an access all areas tour of the set, where we investigated every nook and cranny of the main outdoor area (including having a look at what was behind closed doors!) and the main studios themselves, where we got a close up look at sets including the Platt house, the police station and the Rovers Return. On this episode, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 6th and the 10th October (Episodes #11,687 - 11,692).

A brand new story kicked off this week with Tim at the centre, as he bumped into a familiar face from the past. But when Brian discovers just how close the pair once were, and how young Tim was at the time, he’s left questioning some uncomfortable truths about their relationship. Elsewhere, Ronnie’s birthday celebrations take a dramatic turn when the truth about Abi and Carl’s affair comes out, leaving the Webster family in tatters. Also this week, Theo continues his manipulation of Todd Asha's found unconscious with an empty bottle of pills, and George and Christina go out on their first date.

Not a lot of news this week (plus we're absolutely knackered when recording after a busy day behind the scenes at Corrie - more on that very soon!) so we give The Kabin a swerve and round the show off with a bit of feedback.

An A-Z Of Jenny

For this week’s bonus podcast, we’re bidding a fond farewell to one of our all-time favourite Corrie characters with a two-and-a-half-hour Jenny-fest! As we’d already wrapped up her story quite neatly in the character profile episode we released at the start of 2025, we decided to follow the same format we used for last year’s Gail departure and put together an A–Z of all things Jenny. We chat about our favourite moments, reminisce over stories Sally Ann Matthews has shared with us over the years, and revisit Jenny’s many romantic adventures - the highs, the lows, and the endlessly memeable moments that make her a character we’ll never forget.

On our 700th episode of the podcast, we share our thoughts on what went on in Corrie between the  29th September and the 3rd October (Episodes #11,681 - 11,686).

She’s been a firm favourite of the podcast since her 2014 return, but this week we bid a fond farewell to Jenny, who jetted off from Weatherfield to start a new life in Tenerife. We’d known her exit was coming for a while - but was it a send-off worthy of a character of Jenny’s calibre, or did it leave us wanting more? Also this week, Todd, Theo and co hit Manchester’s Gay Village in some brilliantly directed scenes that exposed a secret from Theo’s past - and revealed just how dark he can be. Meanwhile, Debbie discovers the truth about her brother’s affair, Bethany makes her return to Weatherfield after yet another career disaster, and Asha considers quitting her paramedic course.

After ten years back on the cobbles, our Jenny bade a fond farewell to Weatherfield today, and in the week of our 700th episode of the podcast, we have an exclusive chat with actress Sally Ann Matthews about her decision to leave and what it was like to film those final moments. Sally Ann shares some behind the scenes secrets about some material that was filmed but never made it to air, reminisces about her favourite moments from the past decade and gives an idea about where we might be seeing her on our screens next...

On our latest podcast, we have a natter about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 19th and the 26th September 2025 (Episodes #11,673 - 11,680).

It’s a bumper Street Talk this week as we dive into four hours of Corrie drama! Things kick off with the Carl and Abi affair, which steps up a gear when Kevin finds himself unceremoniously dumped by his cheating wife. Could the big reveal – and maybe even the end of this saga (please?!) – finally be on the horizon? Elsewhere, in a twist nobody saw coming, Noah suddenly drops dead – but were there suspicious circumstances, and might this tragedy push Theo back into Danielle’s arms? Meanwhile, Asha remembers she had a big episode last month that perhaps deserves a follow-up, Becky makes a play to needle her way back into Betsy’s life, and Ollie causes intrigue by showing an unexpected interest in Toyah on Friday. Now what on earth could that be about?

An Audience With Coronation Street - Our Review!

Last week, we had the chance to see not one, but two performances of An Audience With Coronation Street, the Corrie stage show hosted by Soap Queen Sharon Marshall. In this episode of the podcast, we share our thoughts on the show, chat about meeting some of the cast and even take you on a trip to a few of the filming locations we visited whilst up in Manchester - including a sneak preview of the Street at Christmas!

Conversation Street Episode 698

We're going to be away and jolly busy in Manchester this weekend for the Audience with Coronation Street show at the Lowry, so this week's podcast is coming at you early, covering the episodes that were shown on the 14th and the 16th September (Episodes #11,669 - 11,672).

After the shocking revelation that Becky Swain was in fact alive last week, this week's Corrie had a lot to live up to. Would enough questions about the past four years be suitably answered? What would Lisa say to Costello? Would Lisa really be able to see her estranged wife from reconnecting with her daughter! It turned out that the pair of us had quite opposing views about how well Corrie's handled this, and the discussion takes up the lion's share of Street Talk. Elsewhere on the cobbles, Tyrone's told it may be years until he's up on his feet again (so.. skipping around in the snow this Christmas?) Theo and Todd move into their new place, and the twists keep on coming as it's revealed just who was driving the car at breakneck speed through the precinct last Monday...
