On this week's Conversation Street, we chat about the Corrie episodes broadcast in the UK between the 15th and the 19th July. Things go from bad to worse at Barlow's Bookies this week, as both Steve and Rob have a spot of luck at Peter's expense. With the odds he's been offering, it's a bit of a surprise that we haven't seen Norris having a bit of a flutter, as it begins to dawn on him what the financial implications of being a homeowner really are. Meanwhile, there's some devastating news for Hayley at the medical centre... the dishy Doctor Carter has upped and left! Oh, and she might also have cancer. Speaking of Doctor Carter, he goes under the spotlight in our character profile section. Congratulations are in order for new mum Katy Cavanagh in our news section, and we also take a look at the always entertaining Helen Flanagan's latest career move.

Conversation Street has reached Episode 50! In this week's show, we chat about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 8th and the 12th July. You'd be hard pressed to find a place for a quiet drink on the Street this week - at one end, Paul's under fire as a racism row breaks out in the Rovers, while over at the Bistro, sneaky David continues to do his best to cause friction between Nick and Leanne. And think you can escape all this by going to your local club? Not if scorned woman Katy is on your case... For a bit of a change for our 50th show, instead of the character profile, we pit some our favourite characters against each other in a new segment called... Street Fighter! Who'd come out on top in a battle to the death between David Platt and Hilda Ogden? Tune in to find out...

As the identity of the cafe ghost is finally revealed, the spirit of Florence Nightingale lives on in Norris - but does he have an ulterior motive? Meanwhile, the battle between Izzy and Tina comes to an end - though not before the pair of them decide that neither of them are going to keep the baby! And if none of that takes your fancy, you can always listen to the tale of a young Gemma getting three balls of cotton wool surgically removed from her nostrils - now THAT would make a great Corrie storyline! This week's character profile is everybody's favourite busybody, Norris Cole. Next week we'll be doing a quick review of the year so far, so make sure you get your comments in for that!

Conversation Street Episode 47

On this week's episode of Conversation Street, we chat about the episodes of the show broadcast between the 17th and the 21st June in the UK. A big chunk of Street Talk is taken up by all the drama going on in the Platt household - there's been some great acting by Jack P. Shepherd this week, and we can't wait to see what Evil David gets up to next. Also celebrated are the performances of Debbie Rush (Anna gave Tina just what she deserves on Friday's episode) and Eileen Derbyshire's surely BSA-winning tumble from a stepladder! In the news section, we have a look at what the Corrie cast wore at Simon Gregson's recent charity event, and weigh up Craig Charles' chances of being the next Doctor Who. The classic character profile is a little obscure this week, but after all the supposed paranormal activity going on at the cafe recently, we thought we'd summon Matha Longhurst's ghost once more, then chat about other paranormal happenings on the cobbles over the years.

Tune in to hear us express our excitement about the Detecdev storyline, our surprise at the how, for the second week running, Surro-gate is actually interesting, and our disappointment in the content of Gail's kitchen cupboard. Our character profile this week is bad boy gone good, Gary Windass, and we round off with discussions about who's been the best dad on the Street and which characters would make the most promising Big Brother contestants.

This week on the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 3rd and the 7th June. The goings on in the Surro-gate drama may well be as predictable as Izzy's continual whinging, but there are certainly a few surprises in store in the Marcus and Maria storyline, as he reveals to old friends that not only is he seeing Maria, but that he still considers himself gay! Meanwhile, Dev's on the case to prove Sunita's innocence, and we think he might just have found the evidence he's been looking for... Because of all the recent goings on in the factory, we've been thinking about Corrie's very own Alan Sugar: Mike Baldwin, who we put under the microscope in the character profile section. We finish up with a little bit of news and feedback, before rounding off with some talk of the latest surprising cast announcement!

Conversation Street Episode 44

On Episode 44 of Conversation Street, there's an extra-long catch up Street Talk, as we chat about the episodes between the 24th and the 31st May. With Britain's Got Talent filling up ITV's prime slots this week, Corrie's been bumped to 9pm, but how do the episodes compare to previous 'big weeks' in the past? There's drama at the Rovers' reopening as Tina goes into labour two months early; meanwhile, at the opposite end of the Street, there's a stitch up afoot in the knicker factory. And what's Sally up to on t'Internet? Not mechanic/conservatory fetish sites, as we first thought, but she's entered the world of online dating! No character profile again this week (it'll be back next week, we promise!) but we do have quite a bit of news to cover in the Kabin, including Helen Flanagan's recent brush with the law..

Conversation Street Episode 43

It's a short episode this week, coming out earlier than usual due to our trip to London this weekend. As such, we only discuss the episodes of Coronation Street shown between the 20th and 22nd May. The Surro-gate and Ches Mis storylines collide, as Katy finds out about Gary making a pass at Tina, while there's a welcome return to the cobbles for Sinead. Meanwhile, Peter's had enough of Rob at the bookies, and Roy seems to have had enough of, well.. everyone. We celebrate Corrie's triumph at the British Soap Awards in the news section, whilst looking ahead to yet another set of telly awards, and we round things off with a bit of feedback.

Unexpected news comes from two recent deaths this week; one is a cause for celebration in the Price household, whilst the other causes heartbreak and regret for Roy. Meanwhile, Gary finally makes his moves on Tina, but how long until Izzy finds out? Also, slightly off topic, we ponder whether Norris would make a good Mary-Alice Young! In the Kabin, we discuss Corrie's latest celebrity cameo and cross our fingers for the British Soap Awards, and in the feedback section, we answer a listener's question about which current young cast member has the potential to be a Corrie classic.
