It's starting to become a bit of a tradition that the Monday visit to the cobbles is something of a special episode, isn't it? Recently, we've had Debbie's girls' night out, Maggie's flashback, and this week we were treated to director Matt Hilton's 'Behind Closed Doors' ep, a captivating hour of telly where we got to see the full extent of Theo's abuse of Todd via the lenses of in-world cameras - and we were on the edge of our seats from start to finish! Elsewhere on the Street, Dee-Dee definitely got the memo about how to do a speedy, low-key exit - but it might have been nice to have given a bit more consideration to James, don't you think? Also this week, Cassie and Tracy continue to bicker, Sally struggles to parent a mardy teen, and Will and Megan are nearly caught in the act - as are Carl and James!

Tell you what - you go nearly 65 years with nary a snifter of a flashback on Coronation Street, and in 2025, two episodes revolving round them have turned up at once. Whilst Kit's earlier this year felt like more of a bigger production, though, this week's look into Maggie's past was far more low key - though the revelation at the end that she's been covering up her involvement in Ben's father's death for all these years has certainly had many viewers looking at her in a different light now! And speaking of non-linear storytelling, was it just us, or did Carla and Lisa's break up on Friday's episode smack of déjà vu? Also this week, Debbie and Ronnie bring their wedding forward to the New Year, and Megan and Will arouse Lauren's suspicions...

Meanwhile, things certainly aren't looking quite so colourful in the Corner Shop flat, but does Todd's setting up of surveillance cameras hint that he's a bit more aware of what he's going through than we might have previously believed? Also this week, Megan gets a job at Weathy High, Becky comes close to permanently silencing Costello and Dee-Dee announces she's becoming the latest in a long line of Corrie characters this year to up sticks and emigrate - but how will James take the news?

Fifteen years ago this month, Coronation Street reinvented what a soap event week could be, sending a speeding tram hurtling off the viaduct and straight into the Corner Shop, its tail end crashing down on The Kabin. We honestly don't know how they could have gone bigger to celebrate the show's 50th anniversary, and even now, that spectacular week still stands as one of Corrie’s greatest achievements. And yet, despite all that, we’d never rewatched those episodes… until now. So, to mark a decade and a half since John clobbered Charlotte with a hammer, since Sally left Molly beneath the rubble, and since Rita was bombarded with a barrage of bonbons, we’ve finally revisited the tram crash week in all its explosive glory. On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 17th and the 21st November (Episodes #11,723 - 11,728).

We all saw the fall out with George coming after Theo unplugged poor Todd's phone last week, but for many viewers, it didn't make those scenes at the end of Monday's episode any less heartbreaking. And as for Theo forcing Todd to play the welcoming host to Pete of all people on Wednesday... We've got a lot to say about this story this week for sure! Meanwhile, Carl makes it clear that he sees no future for him and Abi if Alfie is part of the equation - will it soon be time to say Auf Wiedersehen to Kev's brother, and will Abi learn about his liaisons with James before he goes? Also this week, Carla snaps when she thinks that Becky's had her arrested, Sally reckons she's got some dirt on Tricia and Roy reveals he's writing to people in prison - but do we already know the identity of any of his pen pals?

On this week's podcast, we have a natter about the episodes of Coronation Street shown between the 10th and the 14th November (Episodes #11,717 - 11,722).

This week, we were treated to another Kate Brooks patented 'event episode' of Corrie, with all the funny camera effects and timey-wimey shenanigans that they so often entail. This time, it's David and Shona who were under the spotlight, with a half-episode that told the story of their tragic trip to the hospital told directly through the characters' eyes - internal commentary and all. We've seen mixed opinions on this since it aired, and had plenty to say about the format ourselves! Another focus this week was Will's story - when we said that we wanted the Rovers at the heart of Corrie, was a teenage grooming story the sort of thing we were asking for? Not at all, but are we enjoying it nonetheless? Also this week, Fizz bubbles over at work after struggling to run the household with minimal support from wheelchair-bound Tyrone, Kevin nearly loses his car in a game of poker and Joni returns to the Metcalfe household - though Tim seems far more occupied with what's going on on Tricia's Insta...

Not a whole lot in the way of news to discuss this week - although we do make the time to offer a somewhat cynical look at this week's Corriedale viewer vote - and we round off the show with more of your listener feedback.
