On our latest podcast, we dissect the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 12th and the 16th November. If you hadn't realised before that Sally Carman is a major asset to Corrie as Abi, surely this week has been enough to convince you, as the desperate mother fell off the wagon after deciding the twins were better off without her. Ending her week behind bars, though, we can only hope she'll get to share some scenes with the former mayor of Weatherfield in the coming months! We find out what it was like for her to join Corrie as a guest cast member, and learn all about the back story she's created for MacKinnon, which we think goes a long way to making her become one of the show's most memorable recurring coppers. After Street Talk, we have a character profile on Gina Seddon - a real favourite of ours in the current character list - where we look back at her roots in 80s Corrie, how Connie Hyde has added a new dimension to her modern incarnation, and how her battles with bipolar disorder are portrayed. This week on the podcast, we cover the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 29th October and the 2nd November, which can mean only one thing: Halloween special! Though Corrie didn't particularly do much for our Gemma's favourite holiday this year beyond a bit of a dress up in the Rovers, the spectre of death still loomed over a number of characters this week, none more so than Sinead, whose predicament was so dire that she even got her own special episode on Monday. We talk about our reactions to this (kind of) four hander, discussing what worked and what didn't for us, as well as mulling over whether we'd like to see this kind of thing more often on Corrie. Also this week, not only is Ali 'Doctor Death' Neeson still being haunted by his actions after the car crash a few weeks ago, he also has a wailing banshee to contend with in the form of his mum Michelle. Meanwhile, Steve returns from the desert looking like something out of a horror movie, and Nick gets his claws into factory. Speaking of Underworld, we hope you've got a spare pair of pants ready for the next section of the podcast, as it's time for some Corrie ghost stories! With some spooky music in the background, we recount four chilling tales of the paranormal from Coronation Street's past. Conversation Street Episode 331

On our latest podcast, we chat about the big week of Corrie episodes broadcast in the UK between the 8th and the 12th October. There were high expectations for this set of episodes, what with a couple of weddings, big secrets revealed and a deadly car crash all teased, but did it live up to the hype? On the whole, we'd say a resounding yes! Sure, Daniel and Sinead's 'not really a real wedding' ceremony could have been better, but we loved the action at Steve and Tracy's nuptials, the drama of Liz discovering the truth about Jim and Hannah and surprise twists of who got hurt - and how! - after the car chase. (Sure, Michelle lived to nag another day, but you can't have everything, right?) All that, plus another superb performance from Sally Ann Matthews as the reality of Johnny's infidelity began to dawn on Jenny, all made for a pretty great week! After Street Talk, we've got a classic character profile on Daryll Morton following actor Jonny Dixon's appearance on Doctor Who last week. To be honest, there's not much to say about Daryll, but it did give us a chance to try and figure out where it all went wrong with the Morton family, and wonder if there really is some kind of curse on anyone who moves into number 6.. There are a couple of small news bites to cover in the Kabin next, then we finish the episode off with a bit of a bumper feedback section.

This week, Steve gets caught in a compromising situation with local good-time girl Leanne, following a misunderstanding with Tracy. Meanwhile, evil Josh has got Billy in his sights (and it's not even insensitive to say that anymore since he's apparently getting his vision back now), and as the Connors get themselves involved in a dangerous coverup, another deception gets exposed as Hope and Ruby discover the truth about Santa. After Street Talk, we have a character profile on one of our personal favourite characters of the moment, Billy Mayhew, taking a look back at his ups and downs over the past four years on the show.
