Conversation Street Episode 368

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 7th and the 14th June. This week's big talking point is, of course, the introduction of the Bailey family at number 3. It's been a long while since a new family's moved onto the terraced side of the street, so all eyes were on Ed, Aggie, Michael and James to make a good first impression - which, in our eyes at least, they certainly did! Also this week, Leanne's bad girl side returns when she resorts to lies and larceny in an attempt to stitch David up, and Vicky returns to our screens with a couple of excellent twists that might even make for a - shock, horror! - semi-interesting Robert and Michelle story! After Street Talk, we have a special listener question section, in which we answer everything you wanted to know about our recent trip to Manchester. With our schedule all over the place, this has turned out to be our third podcast in less than a week (no more for a little while, we promise!). This time, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 3rd and the 5th June. This week, Nick's in for a bit of a shock when he finds out that David's double crossed him over the ownership of the barber's, but that's nothing compared to the news received by Gemma, who - for once - is speechless when she finds out she's carrying quadruplets! Meanwhile, Norris makes a big decision about his future, and there's a new employee in the Corner Shop, who's sure to deliver service with a snarl... Conversation Street Episode 366

In this special, stand-alone episode, we recount our trip to Manchester last weekend, where we not only got to tour behind the scenes at the Coronation Street set thanks to an invite from Charlie De Melo, but we also went along to be in the audience at the British Soap Awards! During our time at Media City, we checked out the new Victoria Street set, both inside and out, explored the sprawling interior of the police station and medical centre, visited the homes of some of our favourite characters, reclined in Speed Daal and got a selfie with Vin Diesel at A Trim Up North. And that's not all - we also learned some backstage secrets, bumped into one or two other cast members, and even got to try on a famous costume! Then at the Soap Awards following day, we snapped photos as the stars arrived on the red carpet, cheered as Corrie took home five gongs, and laughed at some hilarious acceptance speeches. It really was a weekend to remember, and now we share it with you in Episode 366!

Conversation Street Episode 365

We've had a bit of a busy old time this weekend thanks to our trip up to Manchester, and coming back home just this evening meant that we've had to make this a very barebones podcast, sticking to only chatting about last week's episodes of Corrie. We still managed to get two hours out of it, though, what with it being the annual Britain's Got Talent week, or, to put it another way, the week where we're finally supposed to get some kind of pay-off for some of the biggest stories of the first half of the year. And what did that mean for 2019? Well, Audrey finally learns the truth about her grandsons using her stolen money to set up the barber's, but is that all Nick's guilty of? Actually, it turns out the answer could be yes, as at the climax of Friday's episode, we finally learn who it was the sabotaged the factory roof, and it was none other than Mr Nice Guy himself, Gary Windass! We hope that you enjoy hearing our thoughts about these developments and more, and that you can also wait just a little bit longer to learn all about what we got up to behind the scenes at Corrie on Friday - it'll be worth it!

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 6th and the 10th May. This week, we welcome back to Norris, who returns to Weatherfield after his time away with Freda and Emily - and considering his first scene included Mary dropping an urn on the floor, getting Freda in a headlock and shrieking bloody murder at the top of her voice, it's a surprise he didn't hop right back in that taxi and head straight back to Scotland. Yes, it was another iffy week on Corrie, whose other 'highlights' included Geoff being a petulent sex pest and, of course, everyone's favourite pregnant kebab slicer bunking off work. To be fair, we did quite enjoy Freda, and making Ryan one of the key players of the week was a great move, but we're certainly hoping for an improvement next week! It's time for another podcast, and with Michael croaking his way through a throat infection, it's over to Gemma to do the majority of the talking, this week focusing on the episodes of Corrie broadcast between the 29th April and the 3rd May. With the mystery of who's responsible for the factory roof collapse still ongoing, all eyes were focused on Nick this week after Toyah discovered Wayne's stolen report stuffed under his mattress. Was he the fiddler on the roof, or is he really being set up? Speaking of which, Moira's trying to set herself up as a potential love interest for Jan this week - though she'll have to get through Mary first. Meanwhile, Gemma gets viewers' hopes up by promising to move away from the Street, and Sally throws a dinner party - with 'throws' being the operative word when she finds out about Tim's sneaky snacking habits. After last week's disastrous caravanning story, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed watching Gemma this week - though we're not especially happy with the latest pregnancy twist. On this week's podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 15th and the 19th April. Happy Easter, everyone! Well, we say happy, but we must admit, we don't remember the last time we were so down on a string of Corrie episodes as we were with these ones, with the chief offending storyline being Chesney and Gemma's wet week in a caravan, which only reinforced what we've been saying for months about the pair of them being a total mismatch. Meanwhile, back in Weatherfield, Gary continues his quest to become the world's most useless loan shark, and Claudia gets snapped not clearing up after Eccles. Can we have that number for Poop Patrol Hotline please, Beth..? After Street Talk, we take a look back at the factories of Weatherfield, from Hardcastle's Mill right up to Underworld, and chat about some of our favourite storylines over the years - as well as our least favourite factory story cliches.
