Conversation Street Episode 410
Saturday Mar 21, 2020
Saturday Mar 21, 2020
On our latest podcast, we have a natter about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 16th and the 20th March (Episodes #10,032 - 10,037). Another fab week on the cobbles, we thought, helped in no small part a the focus on some of the older members of the cast. Yasmeen's torment at the hands of evil Geoff continued to keep us hooked, whilst the prospect of a blossoming romance for Evelyn provided a nice bit of character development for the usually very guarded granny. And as for the bonkers goings on at Stillwaters, from Claudia in full-on fencing gear to Norris' fear that Freda has been indoctrinated into some sort of cult.. just wonderful! We round off the podcast with a bit of listener feedback, including a voicemail from across the pond and a big thank you to a listener who's sent us a fascinating look at what a 1990 issue of Woman magazine thought Corrie would look like in 2020...

Friday Mar 20, 2020
Friday Mar 20, 2020
In this special one-off episode, we chat about the potential consequences that the coronavirus pandemic may have on Coronation Street. We really did want to avoid bringing up the subject, but with this week's news that Corrie is to move to three episodes a week and rumblings of kissing scene bans and isolation of cast members, it seems like it's become something we had to address. Hopefully, for those of you who are sick of hearing about COVID-19, you can just not listen to this episode and be safe in the knowledge that we'll do our best to keep future podcasts coronavirus-free wherever possible. If you do want to hear our thoughts on how we think the production, stories and broadcasts could be affected, though - and whether we think Corrie should even touch on the pandemic at all in its scripts - then you've come to the right place!

Conversation Street Episode 408: Ali Neeson Character Profile
Saturday Mar 14, 2020
Saturday Mar 14, 2020
On our extra podcast this week, we take a look at the character of Ali Neeson, who bowed out of Weatherfield on Friday night following his scrap with Gary. We investigate the doctor's complicated history, from new families to new names, share our thoughts on how his exit was handled, and speculate if we'll ever see him back on the Street again.

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 9th and the 13th March (Episodes #10,026 to 10,031). It was a really satisfying set of episodes this week, we thought, with plenty of lovely character moments that hit just the right notes - Ken's emotional goodbye to Eccles and Number 1, Roy standing up for Nina and her gradual opening up to him, Yasmeen's turmoil as she's torn between her granddaughter and her husband... all top stuff! And for the action fans among us, we had a pretty epic scrap between Ali and Gary too. Next up on the podcast, it's time for The Kabin, where we delve into the planning documents for the proposed Coronation Street Experience, an extension to the current tour that looks very exciting indeed. We finish off the show with more listener feedback.

Conversation Street Episode 407: Ryan Prescott Interview
Saturday Mar 07, 2020
Saturday Mar 07, 2020
This week saw the online release of Chapter 2: Zach, the sci-fi short from Dom Stephenson and starring a number of Corrie actors including Ryan Prescott, who speaks to the podcast this week in an exclusive interview. As well as telling us how he got involved in the project and what it was like to film, there's plenty of Corrie chat too as Ryan reflects on his two years playing Ryan Connor.

Conversaton Street Episode 407
Saturday Mar 07, 2020
Saturday Mar 07, 2020
On Episode 407 of the podcast, we talk about all things Corrie for the week of the 2nd to the 6th March (Episodes 10,020 to 10,025). This week saw marriage number two for Sarah-Lou, as Adam Barlow takes her up the aisle in a swanky hotel ceremony. In a nice change to the usual Corrie wedding drama, the couple get hitched without a hitch, and a lot of the focus is on Daniel and Sine- er, Bethany, who bows out of the show this week to start a new life as a London magazine writer. She's not the only character disappearing off into the sunset this week, as - after a change of heart from fickle firestarter Hope - Jade is shown the door. In The Kabin, we share our thoughts on Chapter 2: Zach, the newly released short film from Dom Stephenson starring a number of Corrie actors, and we finish off the show with some listener feedback, including a theory from an eagle-eyed listener, who's spotted something that may well hint as to what Ray's plans are for the Street...

Conversation Street Episode 406: Feature Discussion
Sunday Mar 01, 2020
Sunday Mar 01, 2020
A few weeks ago, we shared our thoughts on the Corrie episodes from 1960, and now it's time to cover what we've seen from 1961-1964. From big moments we'd read about before but never actually seen like Christine Hardman threatening to jump off the factory roof and Dennis smuggling sea lions into the Rovers, to characters we never realised how much we'd love - we're looking at you, Minnie Caldwell! - we really did have a blast watching these episodes!

Saturday Feb 29, 2020
On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 24th and the 28th February (episodes 10,014 to 10,019). Cluckin' 'eck - after an iffy few weeks, Corrie is certainly back on form! This week, there's a murder most fowl at number 6 as bad egg Geoff firmly asserts himself at the top of the Metcalfe pecking order. Meanwhile, Beth ruffles Sarah's feathers at her hen do, Tracy offers Ken a poultry amount for number 1 and starts a bidding war, and Ray hatches a plan to get back at Abi - but will he pullet off? Now, because of a bit of a webspace issue (yes, we've been talking far too much this month!) combined with that pesky 29th February, we've had to split Episode 406 in two, and our discussion on the Corrie episodes we've been watching from 1961-1964 will be uploaded in its own mini episode tomorrow, so keep an eye out for that! We just have time to round off this podcast with some feedback, including some Canadian listeners' thoughts on the special 10,000th episode.

Saturday Feb 22, 2020
On our latest podcast, we discuss the goings on in Weatherfield between the 17th and the 21st February (episodes 10,008 to 10,013). This week, we got to see some characters living with the consequences of some unwise decisions made last Friday; namely, Abi blowing up Ray's car and Maria's sexy session on the sofa with dishy Doctor Ali. Meanwhile, Edison's reaction to James' big reveal is far from ideal, and Tara says ta-ra after Chesney turns Frescho's marketing campaign into a laughing stock (though, to be fair, it seemed pretty ludicrous to us from the start..). Up next on the podcast, we're chuffed to be joined for a chat by Kevin Kennedy, aka Corrie's binman turned supermarket manager Curly Watts. Kevin reflects on his time on the Street, responds to those persistent rumours of a Curly comeback, and shares some stories about his time working with Corrie legends including Sarah Lancashire and Pat Phoenix. In The Kabin section, we share new details on Corrie's 60th anniversary book, due to be published in October, and round off the episode with more of your listener feedback - plus a quick spoilery Kabin Extra at the end, where we give our first reactions to some upcoming cast changes.

On our latest podcast, we chat about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 10th and the 14th February (episodes 10,002 to 10,007). In a string of episodes that culminated in Valentine's Day, love, sex and romance was certainly on the minds of a lot of characters this week. When slimy Ray books an executive hotel suite for Alya, there's only one thing on his mind, and when Abi finds out his true colours, she plots an explosive revenge. Meanwhile, the future train wreck that is Daniel and Bethany's blossoming romance hurtles along its track, Seb's heart's aflutter as Alina finds work in the factory, and Gary's plans to propose to Maria take a bit of a detour after she mistakenly thinks he's back to his loan sharky ways. Up next on the podcast, we do a classic character profile on Harry Hewitt, one of the Corrie originals who we've been particularly enjoying watching on our 60s marathon. That's followed by some sad news for meerkat fans in the Kabin, and we round off the podcast on some of your thoughts on the early days of Corrie in the feedback section.
