This week on the podcast, we talk about the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 27th and the 31st January. It doesn't happen all too often, but we do quite like it when storylines cross over in unexpected ways, and we did think that linking the story of Daniel not getting Bertie vaccinated with Maria's miscarriage really was quite clever on Wednesday. On the whole, though, we weren't too impressed by this week's offerings from Corrie, and if, like us, you don't find baby stories particularly riveting, you may not have found a whole lot to like! And once Street Talk is over, the Kev the Crank-worthy rants and bants just keep on coming, as the middle section this week is the triumphant return of the Joni Awards! Now in its third year, the Jonis are a tongue-in-cheek opportunity for us to let off steam and have a good old moan about the past year's Corrie, be it improbable jumps in logic, Weatherfield residents who seemingly have a personality transplant, or the over-use of certain characters over the 12 month period. And we think you know which particular character we're referring to there... Next up on the podcast, we report back on Corrie's impressive result at the National Television Awards before reading out a bit of listener feedback. We finish off the bumper length show with a chat about next week's landmark 10,000th episode, sharing our initial reactions to what has been revealed so far and giving our predictions based on the delightfully intriguing synopsis.

On our latest podcast, we have a good old natter about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 20th and the 24th January. Love it or hate it (and if you know us, you'll have a good idea what side we're on!), the Jade story took centre stage this week, in scenes that featured a runaway child, a vicious chopping board attack, and incredible jumps of logic (Paradise Lost = Hope's in the loft, anyone?) - this one certainly feels like it's building to a big climax! Also this week, the welcome return of Charlie, Tim's Vegas wife, and the genius move to have her working alongside Jenny in the Rovers; plus we say goodbye for now to Bernie, Shona and Max. Up next on the podcast, our third and final part of the review of the decade, focusing on Kate Oates' controversial era at the show's helm. That's followed by a discussion of Corrie reportedly allowing its stars to endorse products on social media in The Kabin, and we round things off with a few listener emails in the feedback section.

We're in a bit of a festive mood in our latest podcast as this week, we're celebrating our 400th episode! And what better way to mark this podcasting milstone than by inviting Corrie legend Julie Hesmondhalgh onto the show to discuss her time playing fan favourite, Hayley Cropper? Before that, though, we crack on with a Street Talk covering the episodes broadcast in the UK between the 13th and the 17th January. Sadly, poor Yasmeen won't be raising a glass to toast our 400th show as this week, Geoff convinces her she's an alcoholic and should give up the booze for good! Meanwhile, Shona wakes from her coma but doesn't recognise David (maybe try losing the beard?), and - Kel Surprise! - Bernie's plan to catfish her ex ends up backfiring. Up next on the podcast, Michael chats to Julie Hesmondhalgh about what it was like to play such a Corrie legend for 15 years and what she's been up to since, including her recent charity work with 500 Acts of Kindness (do check it out!). That's followed by some hints about the upcoming 10,000th episode of Corrie in The Kabin (which, admittedly, makes 400 seems kind of puny!), and we finish off the show with some listener feedback, including a voicemail from LA!

A big thank you to listener Jo for this amazing piece of art she sent us for Episode 400. You can check out more of her work, including her wonderful Corrie caricatures, here.

On the latest edition of the podcast, we check out the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 6th and the 10th January. This week, it was the Jade story that took centre stage, as Hope's secret sister reveals her true identity as part of her plan to tear the Dobbs-Stape household apart. With some excellent performances from all the main players and some particularly fantastic Evelyn moments, we certainly found a lot to like here! Also this week, Corrie doesn't really know whether the Tracy and Paula story is supposed to be dramatic or comedic, Shona clings onto life (with Julia Goulding seemingly refusing to go on her maternity leave!) and Gemma and Chesney finally manage to get some much needed shut-eye. Next up on the podcast, we take a look at the years 2013-2015 as we delve back into our review of the past decade. That's followed by a look at who's made it through to the NTA shortlist in The Kabin, befre finishing off with a couple of voicemails in the listener feedback segment.

On our first podcast of 2020, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 30th December and the 3rd January. This week, whilst the Rovers' New Year celebrations may be a bit of a damp squib, Tracy and Paula certainly start theirs with a bang. Meanwhile, Shona's life hangs in the balance, Maria proves for the umpteenth time she's a terrible judge of character, and Kevin just can't help overhearing conversations that aren't intended for his ears. Next up on the podcast, we have the first installment of a three-part feature looking back on the past decade of Corrie, this week focusing on the years 2010-2012. From explosive events like the tram crash and the Underworld siege to new characters like Kylie Platt and the Prices, we chat about the highs and the lows at the start of the decade. In The Kabin, we take a look at which Corrie characters appeared in the most episodes of 2019 - and there are certainly a few surprises! - and we finish things off with some listeners' thoughts on Corrie's big Christmas week.

In this special episode of the podcast, we celebrate the very best that Corrie had to offer over the past year, in the Conversation Street Awards 2019. In the last twelve months we've seen the collapse of #Kana, Gary's descent into villainy, the expansion of the Winter family and the arrival of the Baileys, as well as the heartbreaking death of Sinead, but which stories and characters did you vote as having made the biggest impression? All is revealed here! After the awards, we spend some time chatting in broader terms about 2019 as a whole for Corrie, before finishing off with some predictions for 2020.

On this festive edition of the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK over Christmas week, between the 23rd and the 27th December. As long time Corrie watchers, we're no strangers to a good dollop of calamity on the cobbles as December 25th rolls around, but this year saw things taken to another level, with not only two characters meeting their maker, but also Shona being left in a pretty precarious position after being hit by a stray bullet during Derek's siege. Meanwhile, it's all change at the Bistro as Michelle gives us the Christmas present we've been asking for for years by swanning off to pastures new, and Alina Pop pops back onto the street to see Seb - but who will he choose between her and Emma? In an attempt to give ourselves some kind of a Christmas break, we decided against having news and feedback sections this week, but we do manage to cobble together a character profile on Robert Preston to round off the show. We'll be back soon with the results of this year's Conversation Street Awards, so stay tuned!

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 16th and the 20th December. The fan theories were proven right this week as it turned out that the supposedly dead Vicky was actually alive and kicking and plotting with Michelle, and as for the baby, well it was doing a lot more than just kicking on Friday! However, as the Corrie gods giveth, the Corrie gods taketh away, and poor Richard pops his clogs this week - but will Roy be able to absolve himself of the feelings of guilt he has over not being there at the end, and more importantly, will Nina forgive him? Up next on the podcast, we chat about Corrie's performance in this year's Big Soap Quiz and share our thoughts on the Coronation Street At Christmas documentary before finishing things off with some listener feedback.

In our latest podcast, we we have a good old natter about the episodes of Coronation Street broadcast in the UK between the 9th and the 13th December. This week saw Geoff and Yasmeen's return to Blighty after their trip to the US, and they're bringing some surprising news with them too! Meanwhile, Tim's in for a bit of a shock when he realises he also has a Vegas wife (alas - if only he'd been able to read the small print!), Maria proves once again that she's anyone's once they get their cheque book out, and the hunt for Vicky continues. Next up on the podcast, we launch the Conversation Street Awards 2019, running through the nominees in each category and why we think they deserve a mention. Don't forget to vote, now! Finally, after wetting the heads of two new Corrie cast member babies in The Kabin, we round off the show with a bit of listener feedback.

Advent has begun, and we're feeling all festive this week on the podcast, which covers the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 2nd and the 6th December. We've been looking forward to the climax of the Michelle, Robert and Vicky story for quite some time now - not just because it seems to have been going on forever, but also to find out exactly how Michelle would get her revenge on her lying fiancé - and the moment of truth certainly didn't disappoint! As for the whole "Vicky's been murdered" angle, well.. like many viewers, we definitely have our doubts! Also this week, Seb and Emma go on a date, Derek has a masterful plan to get one over Gary, and Winter is coming for Kel.. For the middle section this week, we look ahead to this time next year with a lengthy discussion on what we want to see for Coronation Street's 60th anniverary celebrations. That's followed by a look at the Corrie Christmas schedules in The Kabin, and we round things off with more of your listener feedback.
