Conversation Street Episode 453
Saturday Jan 16, 2021
Saturday Jan 16, 2021
In our latest podcast, we have a good old natter about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 11th and the 15th January (Episodes #10219 - 10223).
This week sees Peter's decline continue as he makes a big decision regarding his own future - can anyone get through to him and convince him to keep on fighting? Meanwhile, Yasmeen recognises Geoff in Corey's treatment of Asha, Johnny struggles to to get used to life behind bars, and has Ray got Faye in the family way?
With Harry Visinoni's toilet snake not quite enough to carry a news segment on its own, we give the Kabin a miss this week, and we finish off the podcast with more listener feedback.

Joe Parkinson Interview - Conversation Street Episode 453
Saturday Jan 16, 2021
Saturday Jan 16, 2021
For this week's bonus podcast, we chat with ITV's Joe Parkinson, who's not only been working for the past few years as a story editor at Corrie, but he's also responsible for the fabulous script in the Coronation Street: Words & Design app. We speak to Joe about what it was like giving a voice to the legendary Bet Lynch after nearly 20 years off our screens, and unpick the storytelling process behind the scenes at Corrie.

Saturday Jan 09, 2021
On our latest podcast, we have a good old natter about the episodes broadcast in the UK between the 4th and the 8th January (Episodes #10213 - 10218).
This week, Ray's race to raze the place is nearing the finish line, so Abi decides it's time to "be more Deirdre" - and that doesn't mean nipping out into the ginnel for a quick fag while it all blows over. Will her truck top protest get her message across to her neighbours? (And is she even sure what that message should be?) Meanwhile, Arthur breaks Evelyn's heart - and ours! - by bogging off to Canada, Michael makes a big decision about his future with Grace, and Simon's in for a shock when he finds out Leanne's the only one on the street taking the new lockdown measures seriously.
In the Kabin, we talk about this week's reports that a return story for Vicky Jefferies was set to go ahead last summer before falling victim to the pandemic, and we finish things off with some feedback from listeners, including a message that gets us thinking about how much certain characters have changed over time - and whether this kind of thing is intentional or not.

Our 2020 Reflections And Predictions for 2021 - Episode 452
Saturday Jan 09, 2021
Saturday Jan 09, 2021
This week's bonus podcast is split into two main sections. First, we take a look back on 2020 on Corrie as a whole, chatting about what we felt worked and what didn't, how the show dealt with the impact of coronavirus and whether or not the 10,000th episode and 60th anniversary week lived up to expectations. That's followed by our annual predictions segment, where we first look back on what we thought would happen on the show last year and basically find out how wrong we were, before checking the show's tea leaves to see what could be in store for the people of Weatherfield in the year to come.

Happy New Year everyone! Our first podcast of 2021 covers the episodes of Corrie broadcast in the UK between the 28th December and the 1st January (Episodes #10206 - 10212).
This week, in a revelation that was at least pretty shocking for Gary and Maria even if by that point a good number of viewers might have guessed the Barlow basher wasn't one of the official suspects, Faye reveals herself to be Adam's attacker. In a move that would surely make mum Anna proud that she's following the Windass family tradition of violently attacking someone and managing to get away with it, Faye is persuaded not to hand herself in to the police, but with Gary now DS Willets' number one suspect, will she be able to stay silent? Also this week, Peter's given another worrying diagnosis when he's taken to hospital after coughing up blood, Arthur gets a frosty reception when he turns up with a Christmas present for Evelyn, and Todd's plan to make Paul look like an idiot goes so well, you'd be mistaken for wondering if young Mr Foreman was actually complicit in it himself.
In the Kabin, we pay tribute to Mark Eden and Adele Rose, two members of the Corrie family from the show's golden era who have both sadly passed away recently, and also celebrate Sally Dynevor being awarded an MBE (clearly off the back of her interview with this very podcast a few weeks ago!). That's followed by finding out your reactions to last week's Christmas episodes of Corrie in the listener feedback section.

Sunday Dec 27, 2020
On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 21st and the 25th December (Episodes #10199 - 10205).
This week, Christmas comes to Weatherfield and the residents of the Street are marking the occasion the only way they know how: with backstabbing, betrayal and breakups. Fortunately, it's not all gloom and doom, as we also get to enjoy some cosy family time as Toyah and Imran get their first taste of fostering, and David and Shona work through their problems to re-enact their wedding day in the factory. Will their newfound acceptance of each other last, or will David's preference for the old Shona linger like a carroty bunny trump? Only time will tell, but for now at least, it looks like Christmas 2020 was a positive way to end a difficult year.
We round off the podcast with a new iTunes review, some comments about our recent discussion of the late 80s on Corrie, and more theories on who bashed Adam in the feedback section.

Festive Listener Questions - Episode 450
Saturday Dec 26, 2020
Saturday Dec 26, 2020
For this week's bonus episode, we thought it might be fun to answer some Christmas themed questions sent in by our listeners. What would Corrie characters get from their Secret Santa? Who would we invite round for Christmas lunch? What does Christmas on Coronation Street mean to us? What does Dirk do during the festive period? All these topics and more are covered in this special edition of the podcast!

Bonus Christmas Episode From Our Patreon Vault!
Thursday Dec 24, 2020
Thursday Dec 24, 2020
Merry Christmas everyone! As an extra treat for you this year, we thought we'd upload one of our previously Patreon exclusive bonus episodes onto our main feed!
Each month on Patreon, we release a bonus show centred around a particular Top 5. In this episode, originally recorded back in January, we count down our Top 5 most wanted 60th anniversary gimmicks. Based on an idea from a lovely listener, we came up with lists of what we'd want to see ITV making to mark Corrie's 60th anniversary, and not just a plain old live episode either - this was the chance to let our imaginations run wild! Now that the anniversary's actually over, we thought it might be fun for you to see what might have been - and indeed, if we actually got any of our wishes!
We hope you enjoy this little taste of our Patreon content, and of course, we'd like to take the opportunity to thank all our patrons for their ongoing support.

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 14th and the 18th December (Episodes #10193 - 10198).
There's plenty of dodgy activity going on this week as the suspects in Adam's attempted murder case scrabble around to cover their tracks and make sure they have an alibi for the evening. The jury's still out on whether it was one of ITV's official suspects or if it was someone like Simon or even Faye, but we know one thing for sure: even if Gary didn't do it, he could still be in for a visit from the police if Sarah gets her wish and Rick Neelan's body is found. Meanwhile, Debbie tries to find a compromise with the local rabble raisers, Paul's on call, and it looks like Toyah and Imran might be in line for an extra special Christmas..
In The Kabin, we share our early impressions of the new Corrie app (to which we're both hopelessly addicted, but we promise that's not the reason behind this podcast's lateness!) and we finish off the show with more of your listener feedback.
