Conversation Street Episode 560
Saturday Jan 28, 2023
Saturday Jan 28, 2023
Here we are again, with Episode #560 of the podcast, where we talk about what went on in Weatherfield between the 23rd and the 26th January (Episodes #10858 - 10863)
After last week's cliffhanger of Audrey driving off to the Peak District with a dead body strapped to the roof, we must admit that it was a bit of a disappointment to see the car right back outside Number 8 on Monday's episode. The scene with Stephen desperately trying to make the roof box sink into the canal later on did make us laugh, we admit, but is that what Corrie's going for with this storyline? We discuss the evidence! Meanwhile, it's Alya to the rescue again when Blake gets a bit stabby in the Bistro on Wednesday - but will Weatherfield's latest superhero manage to survive the second extremist attack in a month? Also this week, Tyrone and Fiz dress up for a bit of role play, Daisy's mum comes to town, and there's a chinchilla killer on the loose!
Next up on the podcast it's time for The Kabin, where we see how Mollie Gallagher got on in her first week on the ice and take a look at the synopsis for Maggie Sullivan's latest Corrie novel. We round things off with more of your fabulous feedback.

Bev Unwin Character Profile
Tuesday Jan 24, 2023
Tuesday Jan 24, 2023
For this week's bonus podcast, we take an in-depth look at the character of Bev Unwin, the flirty barmaid mother of Shelley with a bit of an eye for the younger man! During her main stint in the show in the early 2000s, Bev mostly played a supporting role in her daughter's various dramas, but she's still someone who a lot of Corrie fans look back fondly on, and were pleased to see return to the show for a spell in 2015 - although the circumstances that saw her back on the cobbles were certainly not what anyone would have wanted...

Saturday Jan 21, 2023
On our latest podcast, we chat about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 16th and the 20th January (Episodes #10852 - 10857).
Everyone's been saying for months now that Stephen's body count wouldn't stay at one, and in this week's Corrie, he finally claimed his second victim. Alas - poor Teddy! Punched to death... As we mourn his passing (and celebrate our correct prediction from a few weeks ago that the roof box would eventually be used to carry a corpse!), we can't help but wonder about how Stephen's going to get himself out of this mess... Speaking of bumbling bumper-offers, Fiz and Tyrone discover the extent of Hope's obsession with John Stape this week, and we actually quite appreciated the fact that they didn't fly off the handle! Also this week, Daisy's got a secret admirer, Damon gets his feet right under the table at the Bistro and Summer has her first collapse of 2023.
Not a whole lot of Corrie news this week, but the announcement that the Corrie tour will soon be including Weatherfield Precinct access gets us excited about our next trip up north in The Kabin, and we finish off the episode with more of your feedback.

The Bobbins Awards 2022
Wednesday Jan 18, 2023
Wednesday Jan 18, 2023
Back to celebrate all things silly in Corrie over the past twelve months, it's the Bobbins Awards 2022! Now you know we're big Coronation Street fans here, but every year around this time, we do like to poke fun at our favourite show by pointing out the characters, storylines and plot points that didn't quite hit the mark. From the Weatherfield residents that made us facepalm thanks to their idiotic decisions or stupid secret keeping to the coincidences, contrivances and story developments that needed a generous amount of suspension of disbelief, The Bobbins Awards is basically just a chance for us to let of steam for two hours - we hope it's just as cathartic for you to listen to it as it was for us to record!

Saturday Jan 14, 2023
On our latest podcast, we chat about the Episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 8th and the 13th January 2023 (Episodes #10846 - 10851).
This week, we said an unexpected goodbye to Jacob, who leaves the cobbles following a close shave with a drugs sniffer dog at the Bistro - and a serious threat from Damon. Also on the way out this week was Lauren, who skips town following her dad's arrest, leaving Max to face the wrath of the community alone in the wake of last week's bombing. Meanwhile, Gemma and Bernie look set to enter the world of childminding, Daisy's attempts to keep Daniel on his toes nearly backfire, and Summer makes a shocking discovery about Mike that puts her in a very dangerous situation by the end of the week...
With not much in the way of news to cover this week, we skip the Kabin and head straight to the feedback section, where we hear some of our listeners' thoughts on the recent goings on in Weatherfield.

Corrie in 2022: A Year In Review
Monday Jan 09, 2023
Monday Jan 09, 2023
In this episode of the podcast, we take a look back at the past year of Corrie as a whole, and offer our final opinions on the year 2022. From the highs to the lows and everything in between, we reflect on the stories, characters and production bits and pieces that really stood out to us during the year. Abi's baby drama, Fiz's two weddings, comebacks for Stephen, Wendy and Spider, and of course, Summer, Summer and more Summer! Plus, of course, as Conversation Street marked its tenth anniversary, we couldn't help but chat for a little bit towards the end about how we feel about that went too! A really fun chat with lots of praise and some well deserved criticism, we hope you enjoy this one as much as we did recording!

Friday Jan 06, 2023
On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 2nd and the 4th January 2023 (Episodes #10840 - 10845).
Well, Corrie sure knows how to start the year with a bang! Also, a splash. And a thwack. Yep, whether or not you enjoyed them, it can't be argued that this week's episodes weren't at least memorable, with the racists' attempted bombing of the Weatherfield peace festival taking centre stage. As Spider lays in hospital following a fateful (but funny) encounter with Griff in the ginnel, Alya saves the day in an act of... heroism? Stupidity? Sometimes those two can be so close... Also this week, one of Joseph's teachers makes the baffling decision to send him home after he uses sign language at break time, but if you thought that was unrealistic, just wait to find out what happens after Gemma marches up the school to complain.. Meanwhile, Roy gets to grips with his new phone, Esther and Mike's masks begin to slip, and Stephen takes advantage of Teddy's memory loss following his miraculous recovery.
In The Kabin, we chat about Iain Macleod's recent comments about whether or not the online Corrie box sets are here to stay, and we round off the show with more of your lovely feedback.

Conversation Street Episode 556
Monday Jan 02, 2023
Monday Jan 02, 2023
On our first podcast of 2023, we chat about goings on in Weatherfield during the run up to New Year, covering the episodes shown between the 28th and the 31st December (Episodes #10835 - 10839)
We may have been wrong about Griff plotting something big to coincide with the New Year's Eve celebrations, but it was full steam ahead in the Stephen story, where we almost saw Corrie's latest killer claim his second victim. Dodgy CGI eyeballs aside, the final shot of Saturday's episode certainly had us excited for what's to come in this story, though we can't help but feel that Stephen's going to be loitering shadily around the Street for a little while yet. Speaking of Corrie killers, has Todd uncovered an unsavoury secret from Laurence's past? Yeah, we doubt that one, somehow. Also this week, Summer reunites with Aaron, Roy's basically just asking for trouble by continuing to insist he doesn't need a phone, and Peter sets himself a new project for 2023.
