The Changing Sets Of The Rovers Return
Thursday Mar 30, 2023
Thursday Mar 30, 2023
In this episode, we take a look at the Rovers Return, and how the nation's most iconic pub has changed over the years. From the wobbly wooden frontage of the 60s to the double upstairs windowed modern incarnation, the Rovers has come a long way in the past 60 years, inside and out. The bar, the back room, the cellar… even the toilets!

On our latest podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 20th and the 24th March (Episodes #10906 - 10911).
All in all, we thought this was a great week on Corrie, with very little in the way of filler or stories that didn't hold our interest. From the hilarious contrast between Daniel's stag and Daisy's hen-do to the sizzling chemistry between Sarah and Damon, we were pretty much glued to our screens all week. But of course, it was Evelyn saying her last goodbye to loyal hound Cerberus that really got us in the feels - losing a beloved pet is an experience so many of us have been though, and Maureen Lipman's performance was pitched perfectly. Also this week, Aaron moves in with Abi, Paul gets some worrying medical news, and Stephen's killer hole punch returns!
Up next on the podcast, it's the Kabin, where we carefully make our way through the minefield of spoilers that Corrie and other media sources been trumpeting this week to give you a few bits of other news, including Corrie's BAFTA nomination snub and a request for a cameo on the cobbles from a very unexpected source! We then finish off the podcast with more of your fantastic feedback.

Eve Elliott Character Profile
Tuesday Mar 21, 2023
Tuesday Mar 21, 2023
In this week's bonus podcast, we chat about the character of Eve Elliott, second wife of beloved butcher Fred, who ruled the roost at the Rovers for a short period in early 2002 before being unveiled as a bigamist. Definitely not one of Corrie's most memorable characters, but after just having rewatched her entire tenure on the ITV3 repeats, Michael's found a newfound appreciation of Eve, so we thought it was time to give her some credit and dedicate an episode just to her!

On our latest podcast, we have a natter about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 13th and the 17th March (Episodes #10900 - 10905).
This week, Daisy goads Justin into getting rough with her within Craig's line of sight - at last, enough evidence for him to get arrested! We don't think it's time for Daisy to breathe a sigh of relief quite yet, though... Meanwhile, Stephen's campaign of making Carla think her psychosis has returned finally pays off, and by the end of the week, there's a new Lord of the Underworld. What will he do with his new position of power? Only time will tell, but we definitely reckon Rufus should be watching his back... Also this week, smiley Miley bursts onto our screens and Faye's torn about how close she should get to her, Beth's meet-up with Marco makes us think she's a lot more suited to him than Kirk, and Damon's back on the scene to settle an unresolved score with Nick..
Next up in the podcast it's The Kabin, and Gemma's unsurprisingly excited to hear about Simon Gregson's recent appearance on a ghost hunting show (though alas! We don't have access to the service that's showing it!) and then we round things off with more of your lovely feedback.

Corrie On Strike!
Wednesday Mar 15, 2023
Wednesday Mar 15, 2023
For this week's bonus podcast, we take a look at the times when Coronation Street has been affected by industrial action. Back in the 60s and 70s, striking actors and technicians caused some pretty significant disruption to the production of Corrie, and viewers were faced with not seeing their favourite characters for extended periods, having to return to watching episodes in black and white and even, in one case, going months with no Coronation Street at all! In addition to discussing real life examples of striking affecting Corrie, we also take a look at the times when characters themselves have taken to the picket lines to protest the actions of their tyrannical bosses (usually Mike Baldwin, to be fair!) and ponder whether we'd like to see more of this kind of story on the show.

In this week's podcast, we discuss the episodes of Corrie shown between the 6th and the 10th March in the UK (Episodes #10894 - 10899).
This week on Corrie, Amy's shocked to discover exactly what happened between her and Aaron after she passed out on Friday night, and while he's keen for the whole matter to be forgotten, Amy feels understandably violated. Although this storyline didn't get quite as much screen time as we'd expected this week, big props to everyone involved so far! Also this week, Justin gets too close for comfort for Daisy when he lets himself into Number 1 through the back door - but is this enough for the law to listen? Meanwhile, the truth about Beth slapping Hope leads to strife between the Sutherlands, and Tim's thrilled when Jackson shows up at the door with news of Miley - though Faye isn't quite so happy about his return...
Not a whole lot of news this week, so we decided to give the Kabin segment a miss; instead, we just skip to the feedback section after Street Talk for more of your thoughts on last week's eps.

This week's bonus podcast is a special episode based around Chat GPT, the latest artificial intelligence chat bot developed by OpenAI. Streamed live on YouTube and including suggestions taken from viewers live on air, we tested out its knowledge of all things Corrie, asking it to write scripts, articles, poems and more about our favourite soap!

On our latest podcast, we take a look at what went on in Weatherfield between the 27th February and the 3rd March 2022 (Episodes #10888 - 10893)
Every so often, you'll get an episode of Corrie that you'll sit in front of thinking, 'What on earth am I watching?' That was us - and presumably countless other viewers! - on Thursday night as we saw the effects of Stephen accidentally taking a massive dose of LSD that was meant for Carla. Now whether or not you actually liked those scenes is another matter entirely - but we have to say we thoroughly enjoyed the spectacle, despite it admittedly not exactly being 'Classic Corrie'! This week also saw the start of the consent story, with Aaron taking advantage of a passed out Amy after a night of drunken revelry. Uncomfortable viewing for sure, and we're certainly intrigued to see the after effects next week.
Up next on the podcast, there's a quick trip to The Kabin, where we find out about Kym Marsh's next project (sorry, slow news week!) before finishing off with more of your fabulous feedback.

Joining us in this episode for a nice, long chat is actor Michael Condron, who played Griff on Coronation Street. On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 20th and the 24th February (Episodes #10882 - 10887).
Well what a turnaround that was! After last week's kinda dull offering, we really thought that Corrie was firing on all cylinders this week - and who'd have guessed that Alya of all characters would be the one to do it? From the brilliantly written scenes where she visits Max in prison to the heart-wrenching reading of her victim personal statement, we were totally gripped by the climax of the far right story this week, and for it to also include Shona's return, some lovey character moments between David and Maria and Spider triumphing over Griff made it all the better. Just a shame that Blake's sentencing and Councillor Cameron's comeuppance were rushed through! Also this week, more creepy weirdo stalker stuff from Justin, Stephen sets his sights on taking ownership of the factory, and a reunion for Billy and Paul.
There are a few little bits and bobs for us to cover in The Kabin next in the podcast, including the return of Star Tours at the Corrie Tour, and we round out the show with more of your listener feedback, including an interesting point about Stephen needing a nemesis to scope him out.
